Must listen podcast!Only openly political Star Wars podcast I have found. Others only drop digs at politics but Stephen Kent dives deep into George Lucas’ views on capitalism and politics for his trilogies.

I started listening a few months ago and have really enjoyed Stephen Kent's exploration of Star Wars politics, and also his honest reflections on real world politics. Fun and thought provoking!

i Very much enjoy the tone of the latest iteration of Beltway Banthas. This podcast is not as Star Wars heavy as many other SW shows, as it seems to intentionally focus on larger themes and topics that are either informed or mirrored by Star Wars films and canon. Having guests on the show who hold different political leanings from host Stephen Kent is an asset, and I appreciate that they frequently model respect across difference. I’d love to hear some more analysis of how characters and situations from films, books, and comics serve as metaphor for the modern American political landscape. Thanks for these episodes, Stephen!

Smart and critical conversation about the Star Wars universe. I always walk away from an episode with an “aha” moment about a franchise I have loved since childhood, and I value the enrichment of two topics I strive to understand every day.

Fabulous podcast focused on a few of my favorite things. Stephen always has interesting guests from across the spectrum to weigh in on the intersection of Star Wars and politics. If you enjoy either of these things either in real life or the SW Universe, give it a listen!

I discovered Beltway Banthas in the last year, and have come to really enjoy the podcast. Of course, it's right up my alley as a Star Wars fan and someone who is interested in politics and political theory.Stephen does a great job hosting the podcast and has brought on some very interesting and insightful guests to the show that introduce new insights and discourse to the show.

Great podcast! You are the only person other than myself who puts Return of the Jedi at the top of their list, I don’t know why it takes such a hit for having the Ewoks in it. I love the political aspects of the Star Wars universe that you tackle in every episode, thanks and keep it up.

A really unique podcast that explains our current world through the lens of our (probably) most popular pop culture property. While I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, I listen because of the terrific and civil philosophical/political discourse. Stephen Kent does a great job of keeping the listener informed so my cursory knowledge of Star Wars is enough to keep up.
