Beyond Horror Podcast is back and better than ever! I return after a lengthy hiatus from the podcasting world with a new and improved show (donâ??t worry I havenâ??t changed). I spend the opening updating you on where Iâ??ve been and whatâ??s been going on while also explaining the changes that the show has/is going through. I also preview the main subject for the episode Killer Bee Movies. The main theme is broken into two segments. In the first I give some historical context to the subject and the â??rulesâ?? of the sub-genre. Then talk about 4 films from the late 60â??s to mid 70â??s. In the second part I finish off with 3 more killer bee movies from the late 70â??s and one from the mid 90â??s. Then briefly discuss the Candyman films (which does have minimal killer bee action) and a trio of bizarre movies involving women mixing their DNA with a bee (or wasp) then becoming murderous sex-vixens (you read that right). In the Catching Up With segment I talk about a trio of superhero movies (go figure), not so funny comedies (big surprise) and animated â??familyâ?? films. Finishing with a couple of indie genre films including the highly recommended Midnight Special. In the Not-So Random Watches I once again talk about my love for John Carpenter discussing 7 of his films. I finish the show with some closing thoughts on Killer Bee movies and give my star ratings for the films. I also give you a preview of Episode 26, which will be the first of four parts on the career of none other than Mr. George A. Romero. Thanks again for listening, itâ??s great to be back doing the show.
