However, he has found more success as a coach. He guided Bengaluru FC to their first and only Indian Super League title. He also won the Super Cup with BFC.  But apart from the trophies, he brought a massive change in Bengaluru's playing style. A strong defence, physicality in midfield and pace up front made BFC one of the teams to beat in the ISL. Their set-piece routines were also a joy to watch.
