But much like Archaeopteryx, it is not a likely candidate for the missing link between dinosaurs and birds. Birds and alleged ancestral dinosaurs happened to thrive during the same period. Both appear suddenly in the fossil record, with masterfully engineered wings and feathers common in birds today. To think that either of these is a missing link between reptiles and birds, youd have to convince yourself that over the course of millions of years scales became increasingly like feathers until one day the perfect feather emerged and that the delicate darting flitter of a hummingbird-like dinosaur is a miraculous function of unguided, purposeless processes.Hank also answers the following question:What differentiates Christianity from other religions?
