Sam Tanenhaus is a historian, biographer, and journalist. Currently, he writes for Prospect.Tanenhaus was an assistant editor at The New York Times from, then a contributing editor at Vanity Fair, then editor of The New York Times Book Review. He is a visiting professor at St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto, where he virtually teaches courses on American politics and media studies.Tanenhaus's first book, "Literature Unbound," was publised in 1986.
