For research on the series I leaned heavily on the book Blood And Thunder: The Epic Story Of Kit Carson And The Conquest Of The American West. It's an amazing read and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone interested in the topic of Kit Carson, the mountain men, the Navajo, and the history of early New Mexico.
