I had the pleasure of meeting Matt Rhode a few years back when I Mother Earth was touring. We had just played Vancouver and I had a day off. All of the guys from the band were headed home and I was continuing on to meet up with a very pregnant Tara and play a week of solo acoustic shows. A full day off in Vancouver?! What will I do?! I went for a few well deserved late afternoon beers and started asking around: “What’s the absolute best live band to see in Vancouver tonight.” Absolutely everyone gave the same answer; Bend Sinister.
So I had a few more beers, headed out, and had my face melted off by one of the greatest live acts I had ever seen. I met Matt after the show. We hung out, had a few shots, chatted, he gifted me with some vinyl and we have been friends ever since. Matt is a very cool guy, easy to chat with, and is a road dog rock ’n roller through and through. If you have heard of Bend Sinister, you know exactly what I am talking about you also know what others are missing out on by not listening to their music, seeing the stage show and just knowing the complete Bend Sinister experience. If you have not heard of them it’s never too late! In all honesty, as horrible as it may sound, they may never be the biggest band in the world because quite frankly they are too good and couldn’t possibly swim in the mediocrity pool with the other wanna be rock bands; they are head and shoulders above most. Thanks for the chat brother! Now, on with the show!Podchaser is the ultimate destination for podcast data, search, and discovery. Learn More
