Bronzeville is an incredible story of African American prosperity in the 1940's. Following the story of Jimmy Tillman who takes a position alongside the Copelands who are in charge of Running the numbers and the betterment of it's residents. I thoroughly enjoyed this factual based audio drama. - Podcast Junkie

I really love the complex story they've created in an place in history I never knew existed. Bronzeville is audio drama at its finest, offering entertainment, education, and some of the best acting/sound/music in podcasting.

I could see where people would love this - 1940's historical drama in an excellently produced radio play with grade A actors. Personally, however, it just didn't really hold my interest and I found it a little difficult to follow.

Black excellence at it's finest. The voice acting, story, time period. It's a timeless classic.

Superb show with a seriously top notch cast and fantastic sound design from the excellent K C Wayland. A great story informative about a slice of USA history I had not been aware of. Also the behind the secenes episodes are really interesting to those of us who like that kind of thing

A really well made and performed show that explores some really interesting ideas and dynamics and it does a great job within the mobster genre.

Explores the resourcefulness and prospriety of the black community in Chicago circa 1940, following a man who gones on the run after stabbing a white man and joins a gang and rises to a position of respect. The gang runs a community-wide lottery that contributes to the community's self-sufficiency. The story includes competent characters, drama, suspense, and romance. The production is top notch, with the podcast's soundtrack building a great atmosphere for the time period.
