We’re so sorry, Uncle Robert…   This week’s film is really something. We’re joined this week by Dan and Brian from The Goods (www.thegoodsfilmpodcast.com), and we discuss a very unique piece of Amazon Prime low budget horror fare: Robert (2015). This may actually be the worst film we’ve ever reviewed on the podcast, but we manage to have a lot of fun with it. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s also a whole rabbit hole of sequels to explore. Robert giveth, and Robert taketh away. Come explore the Robert Cinematic Universe with us!   Follow us on Twitter! (@buzzedonmovies) Also be sure to check out our friends at The Goods! You know we had to do it to em. If last week’s episode was king size, this one is bite size. A quick bite, that is. That’s right, we’re talking about Quibi this week: all of our favorite shows as well as some non-favorites, as well as our thoughts on the shortcomings of the format. We also talk about our quest to watch as many horror movies as we can during October, and about the extended Night of the Living Dead universe. Come, have a quick bite with us!   Follow us on Twitter! We are back for another king size Halloween movie episode. This week we’re talking two very different kinds of horror: Sam Raimi’s bloody and gooey Drag Me to Hell and the almost too real cult found footage film The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Join us as we wax nostalgic about the internet and horror in the mid 2000s, fall further down the Saw and Dr. Pepper rabbit hole, and get ready for another spooky Halloween season!   Follow us on Twitter! We thought we were done with Saw but it turns out Saw wasn’t done with us. On this very special 50th episode, we attempt what was hitherto thought impossible: watching all eight Saw movies in one massive marathon. You’re along for the ride as we give our reactions to each movie, as well as recap our ever declining mental state as we struggle to make it through. There will be crying, there will be singing, and oh yes, there will be blood.   Follow us on Twitter! We’re back with a vengeance! This week we delve further into Rock of Ages (2012), and what makes it such a magical object of obsession. We also encounter a demon who lives in your phone with Countdown, and a reluctant half-vampire who is also the world’s most boring teenager in Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant. For once, we’re not the only freaks around. Come get freaky with us!   Follow us on Twitter! We finish off our deep dive into Neveldine/Taylor territory this week with a discussion of the pair’s final film, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. There’s lots of fire, decay, demons, and Nicolas Cage insanity here, as well as the classic Neveldine/Taylor visual style. Throttle up, grab a glass of jelly beans, and join us for a wild ride!   Follow us on Twitter! This week we delve further into the Neveldine/Taylor filmography with 2009’s Gamer. This is a strange film with exceptional amounts of sex and violence that nonetheless has a lot to say about society, and seems to have aged surprisingly well. We also cover Matt’s gradual descent into insanity as the film Rock of Ages (2012) consumes his very soul. Don’t get played, check out this week’s Buzzed on Movies!   Follow us on Twitter! We’re back, and this week we’re talking about something new that isn’t horror! This week kicks off our new series on the highly idiosyncratic directing duo Neveldine/Taylor, beginning with their best known films: Crank (2006) and Crank 2: High Voltage (2009). Get ready for high octane action, ridiculous stunts, ludicrous characters, and some of the strangest action scenes ever set to film. In other words, get ready to Crank it!   Follow us on Twitter! And so it comes down to this: our final Halloween episode. This week we’re covering Rob Zombie’s contributions to the franchise, Halloween (2007) and Halloween 2 (2009). Both follow the basic story of the franchise while adding a whole lot of that trademark Rob Zombie flair. Get ready for crazy characters, filthy dialogue, and a whole lot of redneck rock-n-roll carnival weirdness!   Follow us on Twitter! We’re still on Halloween this week, this time discussing Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and Halloween: Resurrection. These are two very different movies, the former marking a return to the tone and characters that made the original so effective, while the latter is just pure zaniness. We have a lot of fun with both in their own way, and we hope you will too!   Follow us on Twitter! This week we join you from the Buzzed on Movies Quarantiki Shack, our tropical retreat from the world where we do nothing but drink tiki drinks, sit on the beach, and watch and discuss mid-franchise horror movies! Our current topic is Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, the sixth installment in the Halloween series. There’s a lot of weirdness in this film, and there’s a lot of weirdness out there, so come get weird with us!   Halloween 6 Producer’s Cut: https://birthmoviesdeath.com/2014/09/30/collins-crypt-halloween-6-producers-cut-vs-theatrical-cut   Follow us on Twitter! We delve into new territory this week with Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. There’s a lot of craziness in these installments, from a gun-happy posse, to goofy cops, to a mysterious man in black. And of course, there are many killings. We’re finally back to finish our Halloween series! Halloween III: Season of the Witch is a very unique installment in the series, completely dispensing with Michael Myers and attempting to establish an anthology format. We discuss this film’s importance to the Halloween series and horror in general, and we also tie it in to current events! There’s a lot of horrible things going on right now, please stay inside and watch films with us, and listen to us attempt to deal with this new reality!   Follow us on Twitter! Did anything big happen this past week? We haven’t really been paying attention. Oh… In this episode we cover the effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic on the film industry and movie theater industry, and discuss our plans for a near future without movie theaters, all while trying not to cry. We also discuss the brilliant film The Invisible Man, which we managed to catch before they closed the theaters, and which will soon be available on demand. Stay safe out there folks, there’s many more movies ahead!   Follow us on Twitter! We have a whole grab bag of new releases this week, and it’s a fairly chaotic collection. We first touch on Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, followed by several mid-grade horror films: The Lodge, Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island, and Brahms: The Boy II.  Matt even tells about his encounter with one of the elusive Brahms Bros in real life! We are finally back to bring you our thoughts on this year’s Oscars! We break down the highlights of the ceremony as well as a few more nominees that we saw in the run-up to the big day. And of course we get completely bent out of shape discussing one of our least favorite nominees ever, Breakthrough! Listen in to see which of the winners and also-rans we think are must-sees. We apologize for the long hiatus, but certain characters from our past got in the way! We’re finally back to discuss movies we’ve seen over the past month, including Joker, The Lighthouse, and Doctor Sleep.  We also somehow get around to talking about Rupert Grint’s ice cream truck and tentacle porn. What better horror franchise to discuss around Halloween than … Halloween? We delve into John Carpenter’s 1978 masterwork as well as the first sequel, discussing the craziest kills and the creepiest music. And oh would you look at that … it’s our 31st episode. This week we pour one out for Moviepass as they have finally bit the dust. We will always remember the great times we had. We also discuss the movie Hustlers, as well as the controversy over the new Joker film coming out soon. Hiya Georgie! We’re both big Stephen King fans, which is why we’re particularly excited to be discussing It: Chapter 2 this week. We have a lot of thoughts on how the film adaptations compare to the book, which of the many creature moments we like the most, and whether certain controversial scenes really needed to be in the movie. This film has faced a decent amount of criticism online, but we have many good things to say about it, so join us if you want to hear a slightly different take.
