At this time, she was overweight because she self-soothed with comfort food. It was her defense mechanism that she believed could combat the heartache of multiple miscarriages. She had not yet learned how to recognize and handle her emotions, which resulted in consistent overeating. I have heard it say that people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Our guest this week is someone who I first met in my 20's. Over 18 years later, she is Chief Operation Officer for Our House Inc. This phenomenal organization has a mission to provide healthy and stimulating environments for people with developmental and other disabilities by providing community residences, employment opportunities, social programs, and other supports designed to help them achieve their full potential for living meaningful and productive lives. Natalie is currently running for office!!! She aims at making an impact in the lives of students in the Ocean Township School District. As a candidate for the Ocean Township Board of Education! she was elected to and served a 1-year term for 2019. This year, she is running for a full 3-year term.Natalie spoke with us candidly about her journey with infertility. I appreciate her openness and honesty. If more women shared the difficulties they encountered in life, we would be less insecure about the difficult roads we sometimes encounter in our lives. These difficult journeys make us feel alone, and we tend to compare and despair, thinking we are the only ones struggling with these challenges. Claudia Taboada has a B. Sc. in Biochemistry and an LL.B. in Common Law from the University of Ottawa. She is a former labor and employment attorney, a health and wellness advocate, an author, an entrepreneur, a women's empowerment coach, and motivational speaker, living in Montréal. Claudia’s most precious and important role is that of being a devoted mom to her two sons Nico and Alex. Nico has autism and for close to 9 years Claudia was his full-time caregiver as well as his teacher. Claudia recently published a memoir entitled ''Burnout to Unstoppable’’ which details her transformational journey from overwhelmed and burned out autism mom to a mom who rediscovered her identity and is going after her dreams with confidence. Speaking of art appreciation, my guest on the Casa DeConfidence Podcast, Anne Huntington, is involved in the arts as a collector, producer, philanthropist, curator, and founder of AMH Industries, a creative agency for contemporary art and culture. It is almost one year since I became a Certified Yoga and mindfulness teacher. My mindfulness practice allows me to grow in self-acceptance and self-compassion. Hi Friend, Establishing a mindfulness and meditation practice has been a gift in my life. It is almost one year since I became a Certified Yoga and mindfulness teacher. My mindfulness practice allows me to grow in self-acceptance and self-compassion. I am working on being less judgmental of myself and more of a coach for myself. Earlier this year, I decided that to grow fully as an individual and coach, I needed to deepen my knowledge as a Mindfulness teacher and Holistic Coach.
