Histories, Mysteries, & Conspiracies
This week we’re talking about some of my favorite topics all in one show. That’s right Histories, Mysteries, & Conspiracies is a deep dive down my favorite rabbit holes. Each week Skye and a guest go deep into the background of a Mystery or Conspiracy or dive deep into a historical event. The thing I love about conspiracy and mystery shows is that every host can and usually has a new take or perspective on the same event. So with Skye and her revolving chair of guests I can enjoy a topic I may of already heard but I get a new perspective on said topic.  If you enjoy this episode please take a moment to follow Histories, Mysteries, & Conspiracies on social media and subscribe to them wherever you’re listening to Podcast Junkie. The Phenomenon Season One
This week we’re here to talk about The Phenomenon Season One. The Phenomenon is an Audio Fiction telling of the day everything went wrong The moment you wake in the middle of the night to an alert that reads Don’t Look Outside, Don’t Look at the Sky, Don’t Make Noise. That’s where this story starts from multiple perspectives. Black Star Chronicles
This week we’re here to talk about Black Star Chronicles. Black Star Chronicles is created by Randy Greer who is a large sci-fi enthusiast which is perfect since Black Star Chronicles is an Audio Drama set in just that, a Sci-Fi universe with a rich background. The Story of Black Star Chronicles revolves around the Horizon corporation who has taken Juno’s brother Naheem but for what reasons we don’t know. The thing that truly captivates me about Black Star Chronicles is that once you start listening to this audio drama and get in to the futuristic city you start  to get a feel for the underbelly of it and all its citizens. A Ninth World Journal Season One
This week we travel to a fantasy world full of nanotechnology, bio-engineered creatures, and so much more. I’m talking about A Ninth World Journal Season One written and produced by David S. Dear. Season One of A Ninth World Journal is the story of Januae a researcher inside Durkhal. He commissions a device that allows him to teleport to any place in the Ninth World, but lets just say it wouldn’t be an Audio Drama without the Drama. 3 Spooked Girls
This week we’re getting spooky with 3 spooked girls.Hosted by Tara and Jessica The theme of this podcast is paranormal stories either experienced by either of the lovely hosts and stories from others which may include some historical stories you might be familiar with already. Don’t limit these two woman just to paranormal and spooky stories of things not normally seen though, as they cover some True Crime topics because well sometimes true crime cases can leave behind the paranormal entities they talk about as well. Speaking of recent I was extremely pleased to update this review with the Stabby Snippets which is now an additional episode each week. So along with the normal releases each and every Monday just like Podcast Junkie. Sex With Emily
Sex with Emily has been a staple in my podcast rotation for years now and let me tell you if you’re still listening you can learn to be more in tune with your sexual well being and learn to care for your partner that could be your spouse, significant other or just a fling that you get together with occasionally to release our natural desires. Emily covers it all from mental well being to sexual frustrations. The thing I love about Emily is she always tries to approach every situation from a non judgmental perspective and give the best advice for every situation. From how to deal with bad lovers, how to speak up for what you need from your partner and even how to break down the walls you have made or society has put on you. Things like how to explore your body and learn what turns you on and off physically and mentally along with how to make sure that it translates to an intimate relationship with your partner. Oz 9 Season 1
This week we’re boarding a Gated Galaxies OZ spaceship holding roughly 50,000 sleeping passengers and a handful of highly intelligent…..or at least sub par staff members on the OZ-9. The truth about this show is that it’s a top notch production from a crew who came in to Audio Dramas cold turkey and literally took it out of this galaxy with it’s story, soundscape and comedic tone. Twisted Britain
This week we’re here to discuss a True Crime podcast with a Twist. Coming to us from the Settle Inn in Stirling UK which was opened for your drinking pleasure in 1733. Hosted by Bob and Nadine this weeks podcast review is Twisted Britain. Every other week Bob and Nadine meet up where they struck up a friendship over trivia, podcasts and morbid topics. Twisted Britain is different from other True Crime shows I listen to as each episode Bob and Nadine tell a story one long and one short. One reason I enjoy Twisted Britain is that Bob and Nadine (not always anymore you cheater) research crimes exclusively from the UK to bring to us wherever you live.  If you enjoy this episode please take a moment to follow Twisted Britain on social media and subscribe to them wherever you’re listening to Podcast Junkie. The Ladies Of Strange
If you’re in to dark topics surrounding true crime, conspiracy, history and the paranormal all with a comedic twist then let these three best friends take a stab at becoming your next favorite binge. I find it very entertaining when a podcast feels fluid and natural among the co hosts. Each episode I get the feeling that these hosts are just remembering to turn on a mic and bless us with their normal conversations that they would be having regardless if there was a podcast. The topics discussed in this are just what you’d expect. Items ranging from eerie museums to Salem witch trials to odd town festivals. You may be asking yourself why you should go listen to these three woman over another conspiracy podcast or true crime or occult. Well the answer is simple. They do it all and do it hilariously. American History Tellers
This week we’re talking American History Tellers Hosted by Lindsay Graham and is apart of the Wondery Network. American History Tellers does an incredible job at weaving the narrative of early America with elements like soundscape to give us the listener a taste of our story. Some of my favorite episodes have been based around The Cold War, Prohibition, and National Parks. Names of people you probably never heard of before have made the biggest impact on our story as Americans. My Stuttering Life
This week our review and recommendation is for My Stuttering Life. Through listening to My Stuttering Life I have learned so much about not only the struggles of Stutterers but also how to try and be more accommodating to someone with a stutter. Pedro covers the gambit of issues he’s encountered and gives his solution on how to address and be victorious. I will say if you’re looking at all for an inspirational or spirit lifting podcast Pedro is the man to do so. His take on life and his laugh is contagious and infectious. He always seems to find the bright side to every circumstance thrown his way and he honestly cares about each and everyone who listens and writes to him. Business Wars
This week we're talking about Business Wars which is brought to us by Wondery. A podcast network that brings high quality shows with intense quality. Business Wars is a mini series style podcast that focuses on titans of their industry giving up the real stories of companies and the leaders behind them.  The podcast started with a highly captivating series on Netflix Vs. Blockbuster covering the ins, outs and everything in between including HBO and how these competitors once almost worked together but ended battling till ones death. The show continues with rivalries of Addidas Vs. Nike, The First Computer War, Marvel VS DC, Sony VS Nintendo and McDonalds VS Burger King.  Through this podcast you'll get to learn about those Titans. The downfalls tribulations and the miraculous come backs. With this I must say Business wars is an incredible Podcast to binge from start to finish or find the war you're interested in and listen to it's story. The facts are researched and the stories are told accurately and unbiased. That is one of the reasons this show has captivated me so much. So what war are you interested in? Let them know. Missing Richard Simmons
This week we’re here to talk about a man many of us know as the funny fitness guru in spandex and hair that caught the eye of everyone. A case of silence, mystery and even worried friends. The podcast we’re going to be talking about is Missing Richard Simmons. A podcast series brought to us by Dan Taberski who was a regular Slimmons attendee and friend to the man himself Richard. Dan takes an investigative look into what happened on February 15th 2014. What caused this man that changed so many lives to change his. Why he dropped not just the career he built but also his closest friends. Where he went? Who is he still talking to? Missing Richard SimmonsTwitterFacebook Podcast JunkieTwitterFacebookInstagram
Married To The Games
This week We’re here to talk about a podcast that showed me what it meant to be a community. This week I’m here to tell you about Married to the Games or MTTG as we call it. I should state right off the top if you’re looking for a guaranteed family friendly podcast this is the one for you. Married to the games started life back on September 21st 2012 with Three hosts. Gabe, Tim and Tim. These three Nashville natives all came from different walks of life but were united with Video Games. As the friendships built so did their families. Married To The Games was based on the principals of Kids, Wives and 9 to 5’s… except for Gabe when it’s tour season. The three hosts opened up about their personal lives and of course Video Games. Timothy Hall stepped away from Married To The Games to focus on his growing family. So with his leave a spot needing to be filled and Chris McCrackin and Ed Placencia long time listeners and well regarded community members stepped up and without skipping a beat it was a perfect fit. Heavyweight
Brought to us by Gimlet Media and hosted by Jonathan Goldstein let me introduce you to Heavyweight. A podcast that is currently two seasons deep Jonathan dives into the moments in life when everything changed. In heavyweight we are introduced to a new person each episode and their story. Stories ranging from brothers who are in their eighties and haven’t spoken in decades to a story of a CD and musician slighted. Jonathan hears stories of friends, family and then tries to mend the point where things went wrong. I feel as though through this series we can start to see a Jonathan inside each of us, if not only just a glimmer. We all face challenges in  relationships at one point and many of us have lost someone in these cases. So with Heavyweight I feel as though it's like Jonathan is speaking to us all. Husk Season One
This week we're talking Husk Season One. They always say investigators start with those closest to the victim, but what if the victim is missing and the person that last saw them claims they were together in a forested spot to go on a mushroom fueled trip but next thing she remembers is the sound of her own scream before waking up to dusk setting in and her friend missing this is the start of Husk Season One. The Bright Sessions
Today we’re here to talk to you about an amazing and one of my personal favorites The Bright Sessions. The show revolves around a group of adults and several young adults that all share a special attribute they all have a supernatural abilities in some form. Yes I know it sounds so cliche from today's world but somehow Lauren Shippen the creator has gone beyond what could of been a TV knockoff and made a vast world that feels so real. In this day and age we are so skeptical of the people running our government and wonder who’s truly behind it all and what they’re hiding. Our Government has a division in charge of these A Typical people and a normal therapist that is charged with helping them fit in to our society with the best of her ability. From scorned lovers to blossoming high school romance and even a time traveling romance this show covers it all and just like in life you fall into a click and mingle within it. From learning about each patient of Dr. Bright's we learn about aspects of their personal life through the series. The main story line seems to of concluded but Lauren has made nods to a new series or spin off and still releases occasional patient clips.  If you’re looking for a top tier story look no further and maybe if we’re lucky the tease of exploring other aspects of The Bright Sessions in a new spin off series will come true and if it does you’ll hear about it here first on podcast Junkie. If you enjoy this episode please take a moment to follow The Bright Sessions on social media and subscribe to them wherever you're listening to Podcast Junkie.
