This podcast needs serious work. Extended sections of every single episode have distracting audio issues: persistent echoing, popping microphones, one host being much louder than the other, and absolutely zero care in post production to fix any of it. One of the hosts has a serious vocal fry and whine issue, this same host also tends to complain and draw comparisons to her own life in a way that are the exact opposite of comedy. In fact, literally nobody is laughing during these extended awkward diatribes. Shockingly, your experience as a thin white woman with an eating disorder is not universal nor groundbreaking, just like Lena Dunham’s wasn’t. Both of you could’ve taken your other host’s advice and kept that to yourself, as no “betterment for the cause” was achieved. Listening to two grown adults get intellectually washed by the likes of Caroline Calloway certainly was comedic, just not in the way they intended to be. Overall, if you like skin-deep takes from extremely privileged people who like to point out the privilege of others in order to distract from their own, this is the podcast for you. If you have more than two braincells, skip it.
