Hey CineLovers! Welcome and welcome back to CineJunkiePod! This week, we are honoring Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance! We reviewed Saturday Church with writer/director Damon Cardasis, featuring Luka Kan, Alexia Garcia, Indya Moore, and Mj Rodriguez. This is a beautiful and uplifting film that focuses on self-acceptance, challenging gender norms, and family. It is more important more than ever to support our trans family, and bring awareness and education to ourselves and others. This is a moving and important film that we highly recommend!
As we look back on 2020, there have already been 37 transgender or gender non-conforming deaths this year (according to hrc.org). Take the time to make yourself aware, donate, and talk to your friends and family about transgender awareness. Trans rights are human rights.
