Doing simple things extremely well. On Episode 47 of Coaches Tuck Radio, Don is joined by the head of the University of Georgia Bulldogs men’s and women’s track and field teams, Petros Kyprianou. He was the 2017 & 2018 US Track & Field National Coach of the Year, has produced several Olympians, World Championships medalists, National champions, NCCA and American record holders. To top it off, he’s also a competitive masters weightlifter!
Since being named the head coach of Georgia in 2015, Petros and his Georgia program has experienced amazing success in a short amount of time, so we dive into what has lead to this success. In short, it comes down to doing the fundamentals extremely well. One of the aspects that make Petros unique as a sport coach is that he also serves as the team’s S&C coach, managing the physical preparation of his athletes. Even more, the snatch and clean & jerk are the foundational movements of his program!
