SHOWNOTES: Welcome to Season Two of Collateral Cinema Movie Podcast, cinephiles! We are totally excited to bring you another season of fun yet hard hitting film analyses and reviews, and we decided to bring one of the most talked about horror movie reboots in recent memory straight from the theaters: David Gordon Green's and Danny McBride's 2018 reboot of the all-time great slasher movie, Halloween! We trekked to our local cinema, and were floored by what has become one of the most successful slasher releases in quite a while—even beating It: Chapter One's giant October opening(!)—and we were stoked to talk about Jamie Lee Curtis' powerhouse performance, the truly menacing return of Michael Myers as "The Shape", the many callbacks to previous installments in the franchise, the absolutely jarring thematic elements, and even the show-stealing performance of young up-and-comer Jibrail Nantambu! We also give a little love to the Cinema Snob's series of reviews for the Halloween franchise, and celebrate the absolutely wonderful realization that BEN TRAMER LIVES!!!
