The movie had its fair share of problems over the years, with two separate directors leaving the project over creative differences before the script went back to the drawing board for a re-write. Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski is attached to direct, with a release date set for February 14th, 2019. In a new article from Vanity Fair, plot details have been revealed for Quentin Tarantino’s much anticipated movie that recently landed at Sony. The untitled film, going by the working title #9, takes place in the summer of 1969 in Los Angeles and follows “a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and is looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing.” Vanity Fair notes that the murder of Sharon Tate at the hands of the Manson family serves as a backdrop to the main story. Filming is set to begin in June 2018 for a 2019 release yet to be determined. OPENING THIS WEEK BUY OR SELL Focus Features has released a new teaser for the upcoming drama Phantom Thread, which reveals that sneak preview screenings for writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s newest movie will be taking place in New York and Los Angeles from November 24th through November 30th. Set in 1950s London, the film stars Daniel Day-Lewis as Reynolds Woodcock, a high-society dressmaker whose life is upended when he comes across a young, strong-willed woman. The movie is set to open wide on December 25th later this year. A new Star Wars: The Last Jedi TV has been released, this time further teasing Rey’s journey in the movie and the temptations that may arise from the Dark Side. The epic eighth chapter in the Skywalker saga is ready to debut in under one month’s time, and stars Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie along with newcomers Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.
