The story of Texas Independence is almost always told from the perspective of the victorious Texans. Comparatively few academic studies have looked at the experience of the other side of the conflict. However, in some ways, the experience of the Mexican armies in Texas is as revealing to the story of Texas’ independence as that of Sam Houston’s army. Today we take a look at the story of El Mar De Lodo, the Sea of Mud.
