"And remember, there is another person on the other side of the screen." As if I am not already cheering Dylan on for making this podcast, this sign off makes me tear up every time I hear it. Why? Because I am an avid lover of technology and the fact that people use the tech as an excuse for downright mean behaviour 100% annoys me to my core. But Dylan is the opposite of me: he is patient, kind and truly tries to see things from the other person's point of view. Perhaps some of my favorite episodes is when this calm demeanor is testing by the sheer ridiculousness of one of his guests. But he does not falter, he just repeats his point and keeps moving towards at least an agree to disagree stance. I learned about this podcast from a Podcast Brunch Club meeting a few years ago and have been listening ever since. I hope some day we can stop acting like idiots online but until then, I am going to advocate for responsible, enjoyable use of tech with a dash of niceness thrown in.
People get so divided, this show helps people chill a little. It got me thinking about the way I communicate with people in my life. Sometimes, you just have to listen and be human! Well... all the time! Thanks for doing the show! Very cool!
Love the concept. Dylan is on my regular listening because this podcast gives me hope for humanity.
