Our bodies only know the present. It can't assume what will happen in the future or deal with what's happened in the past. Your body has the presence to fix or maintain what exists.
Now that is pretty incredible if you ask me. In fact, you and I could learn a few things or two from how our body sees and handles life.
So I want to pause for a moment. After coming off the holidays, usually, the break gives you space to create your now. You can make adjustments more quickly because you've had some downtime.
And we use downtime when we take vacations too. However, what about how you handle your training regimen?
Are you one who jumps in and the more pain and discomfort you feel, the better?
Or are you one who decides that you are going to do something, but never take action because everything else gets in the way?
Or are you one who listens to your body and allows yourself to rest just like you were on vacation?
Well, I bet I could win a few million dollars if I was a betting girl. However, there's no need to bet. Just trust and be honest with yourself instead.
My guess is that you push hard to feel bad in order to know you are doing something for your body. Or the latter, where you have your excuses run your day.
But what if rest could do your body better?
As much as you think going all-in is wise, it might be for your schedule, but not for your body. R.E.S.T. is invaluable to your body and healthy living.
No one talks about the injuries gained from pushing too hard and training wrong. All that is wanted are the results!
You're in the week where people start throwing in the towel. Excuses lead the day and that's how what you want floats away.
Don't rush what's good for you. R.E.S.T. does your body good!
