I'm a retired adoption social worker (MSW) with many years of experience working at the NYS level and later for many adoption agencies doing home studies and post placement visits and reports. I liked this podcast a great deal because there was a great discussion about the dynamics of open adoptions. I do take issue to references regarding adoption being for a two parent family since adoption is open to singles as well. The program also failed to indicate that some birth parents are never told about the possibility of open adoption when they surrender their child. Neither was there reference to the fact that counselling and other supportive services are no longer provided by adoption agencies following finalization. That said, good job!
