Episode 77 features for WWF European, Hardcore, and Tag Team Champion, and current TNA Producer, Mr. Al Snow! Al was kind enough to come on and spend an hour discussing his career and his views on the business. We talk about what initially drew him to pro wrestling, and his infamous tryout with Ole and Gene Anderson. From there, we cover his experiences on the indies, and with the NWA and ECW, including his thoughts on the incident where Shane Douglas threw down the NWA Championship, as well as his matches with Chris Benoit. We go over his time in SMW working for Jim Cornette, and working with Glenn "Kane" Jacobs, back when he was known as UniBomb, and feuding with the Rock N Roll Express. Al discusses the Shinobi and Avatar gimmicks, and wrestling on WWF television under those names, and also as Leif Cassidy. The end of the Cassidy gimmick comes up, and how that translated into his ECW run, before he discovered and utilized "Head." From there, we cover a plethora of topics, including working with Rob Van Dam and Shane Douglas, returning to the WWF and working with Vince Russo, the WWF's inability to initially use Al and Head properly, the Hardcore title run with Hardcore Bob Holly, the original Tough Enough and comparing it to The Ultimate Fighter, ECW One Night Stand 2005 and the incident between The Blue Meanie and JBL, Conor McGregor vs. Pro Wrestling, and his thoughts on Joey Ryan. Al also covers TNA, and goes off on a rant about what he truly thinks of "smart" and "internet" wrestling fans that must be heard! Some may find it offensive, I found it enlightening...And we also talk about The Al Snow Wrestling Academy, located in England, with Al as the head trainer, and assisted by Joe E. Legend, Doug Williams, and Jonny Storm. You can find out all the info you want on the school at AlSnowWrestling.comTo keep up with Al, follow him on Facebook at RealAlSnow and Twitter at @RealAlSnowPlease rate and review Creative Control on iTunes, as well as check out the Creative Control t shirt store at prowrestlingtees.com/ccwithjoefeeney
Episode 73 is with former CZW World Heavyweight Champion, and one of the most innovative and exciting high flyers of all time, Ruckus. It was great to have Ruckus on, as I was a big fan of his work all across the indies in the early to mid 2000s, including CZW and 3PW. We talk about his fandom as young man, his access to all sorts of different promotions, and who he enjoyed watching. We cover his backyard wrestling, and trading his tapes with another backyarder, Sonjay Dutt! He covers some of his early matches, including teaming with New Jack early on, and the match on a New Jersey indy that lead to his beginnings in CZW. We go through his lengthy original CZW run, including wrestling for the Junior Heavyweight title with guys like Sonjay Dutt and Trent Acid. We also talk about his feud with Rockin Rebel and how the NAACP got involved! We talk about the BLK OUT stable, how that came about, and how successful it was, including leading to a few CZW World Heavyweight Championship reigns. We go over his team with BLK JEEZ, and how successful it has been all through wrestling, including CZW and Extreme Rising. We cover his work in Ring Of Honor, and his World Heavyweight Championship match with Nigel McGuinness. We also go over the Wrestling Society X project, and what he thought of MTV's influence over the TV show. And we talk about what Ruckus is up to today, including his return to CZW, and future dates with Atomic Championship Wrestling, Billtown Championship Wrestling, and Maryland Championship Wrestling. All in all, it's a cool conversation with one of the chillest guys you'll ever speak to, one of the most memorable indy wrestlers of all time for Philly and Jersey fans, Ruckus. Ruckus will be appearing for Atomic Championship Wrestling on July 9th, Billtown Championship Wrestling on July 30th, and Maryland Championship Wrestling on August 20th. Kevin Kleinrock of Masked Republic and Lucha Loot returns to Creative Control! Kevin has a vast array of experiences in the wrestling world. In part one, we talked a lot about how he got into the business, his time with XPW, and the Wrestling Society project that formerly aired on MTV. On this episode we cover the post WSX years. First, we talk about his time working for Bischoff/Hervey on Hulk Hogan's Micro Championship Wrestling, which aired on Tru TV. We cover the Urban Wrestling Federation, a concept with combined wrestling, rap, and some outlandish skits, that lead many to compare the UWF with today's Lucha Underground. We also talk about the beginning and unfortunate end of Extreme Reunion/Extreme Rising, and whether or not they were ever truly in position to have a TV deal. We go over the Masked Republic's "Masked Mania" show, that took place in Philly the weekend that Extreme Rising collapsed, his memories of the show, and more. Kevin discusses his current projects, including Lucha Loot, a monthly box/crate for Lucha fans, which usually includes a mask, autographs, DVDs, and anything and everything in between, including "Rudo Can't Fail," the Lucha Magazine that Kevin is behind. Episode 59 is a gem of an episode. Do you know who Austin Bradley is? Well you will! Bradley started training right out of high school at 18 with Nick Dinsmore at OVW. Also helping with his training were names like Rip Rogers, and Al Snow. He talks about his training, working for OVW, and his first match, as well as how Rip Rogers hilariously made sure he lost his case of nerves beforehand! He covers working with guys like Rob Terry, Jay Bradley, and King Mo in OVW, and his close friendship that developed with Mo. He goes over his departure from OVW, and calls out someone who claims to have had a hand in his training, but in fact had none at all. He goes over working for D1W and Rick Brady. He discusses meeting Madman Pondo, and how helpful Pondo has been in his career. We touch on his successful tag team #Spotlight/Danger Zone with Kyle Maverick, and working with Tracy Smothers. He tells the story about his first concussion, and about working an IPPV match shortly thereafter with Adam Gooch. Austin has also had some experience working for the Insane Clown Posse in JCW, including a death match with the one and only Necro Butcher. We talk about that and his other experiences there, and all over the mid south, until he got the invite to Japan. Austin trained with and wrestled for Zero One in Japan, and he talks about that as well as the cultural differences and how he took to them. He also happened to be in Japan during two major earthquakes, one while extremely hungover after a sponsor dinner! He tells the tale of how Zero One helped after the disaster, the press coverage, and how it made him feel. And finally we go over his injury that unfortunately led to him being sent home, and we talk about his future, both here in the states, and in Japan and possibly England. Austin is a confident, talented kid, and I see big things for him all over the world, in professional wrestling. Please check out Austin Bradley on his Facebook page, and follow his work in promotions like IWA East Coast, ASW, and Resistance Pro, as well as Zero One in Japan. And please check out the Creative Control official t shirt store at prowrestlingtees.com/ccwithjoefeeneyCurrently a t shirt purchase comes with a free surprise gift!
It's a guest-less show, that's right, one hour and twenty five minutes of me just ranting and raving. Nah, actually, I am way more level headed than my Post Wrestlemania show, so if you enjoyed all that anger and cursing, there isn't as much here...but there's still some. This episode will go over Payback, all the matches and results. I go over Baron Corbin and the buffonery of having him job on the preshow, after winning the Andre Battle Royal. I talk about Dolph Ziggler's career, and where he could possibly go, and if WWE will ever give him a top chance again. I touch on Kalisto and Ryback's match, and Ryback's uncertain future with WWE. Enzo's injury during the #1 contender tag match is up next, and I go over various ideas behind how it happened. I touch on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, what I'd like to see for them in the future, Zayn's dangerous suplex, and Owens and how WWE likely sees him today. I ponder the future of the IC title, and how Miz and Cesaro fit in. Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose is discussed, and Jericho's new reputation as a "politician," and whether I believe it is true, as well as Ambrose and his future. I talk about the blah finish to Charlotte vs. Natayla, go over my thoughts on Charlotte's ring abilities, and lament the usage of Bret Hart. I cover The McMahons' segment, and how Chicago responded. And finally, I go over the "phenomenal" main event between AJ Styles and Roman Reigns. As always, i have alot to say about Roman and how he is booked and perceived. I talk about how well I think AJ has adjusted to WWE, and how I think he will do from here on out. I talk about how I hated the finish, but how I also understand the reasoning.I talk tonight's RAW from there, including: Shane & Steph, and why I liked to see Owens and Cesaro with mic time so early, as well as their match and the IC title situation; Tyler Breeze and how terrible his 2016 has been; the Tag Team Titles and where they are headed, as well as something the Vaudevillians did that I really liked, and the future for Big Cass; Emma and Becky Lynch, and the crowded top tier of the Womens Division; The Ambrose and Steph segment, why it was disappointing, and Jericho's trolling on Twitter; The US Title Battle Royal, what happened to Zack Ryder, the underutilized Alberto Del Rio, Kalisto's disaster in the commentary chair, more Baron Corbin tomfoolery, Apollo Crews, Sheamus, and Rusev's current status, as well as Lana's misuse; "Little Naitch" and the Natayla/Charlotte/Ric Flair segment, and why Flair may have been so speechless backstage; and finally the big main event between Styles, Anderson, and Gallows vs. Reigns and the Usos; the instinctual wrong, pig headed booking of Roman Reigns and how it hurts him, how "phenomenal" AJ Styles has truly been, my disagreeing with the use of Anderson and Gallows so far, and my future predictions for all six men, especially as far as Styles, Reigns, and the World Title go.Please check out the Creative Control T Shirt store at prowrestlingtees.com/CCWithJoeFeeney which will have three new designs within the next ten days! And remember, order a shirt before Friday, and receive a free gift!

We also talk about his experiences in Japan as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, and working for HUSTLE and Zero-One. We cover the rumors about Sabu granting his blessing over The Sheik gimmick. Sheik and I also talk about his thoughts on working the "hardcore" style, and how his character lends itself to that style match sometimes. We go over the controversial title change, when Sheik defeated Colt Cabana for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, Cabana's feelings on it to this day, and how Adam Pearce felt about the whole situation. We go along through Mikey's career, including his unusual entrance into the business, working in ECW with guys like The Sandman, Cactus Jack, Raven, Justin Credible, Mike Awesome, and more. We also delve into his appearances in the by-then, very dysfunctional WCW. He discusses his highly thought of debut match with Kidman on PPV, the confusion beforehand, and how screwy the WCW bookings could really be. He also touches on what made him throw in the towel on his WCW experience. From there, we talk about his ECW return, being managed by the Sinister Minister and teaming with Tajiri, and the end of ECW. We also cover some of his post ECW appearances with ROH and TNA, and why he did not return to TNA for Hardcore Justice 2010. On this return episode of Creative Control, I am joined by my sometime in the future co host of Wrestling With History, wrestling historian Bill Knight. What else can we talk about after the announcement last Friday other than the untimely passing and legendary career and life of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Not a chance in hell we could cover the man's career in one episode, so I would wager there will be at least two more. We cover Piper vs. The Guerreros, Mid-Atlantic, Georgia and the Gordon Solie Angle, Roddy's arrival and shot at the top in the WWF, working with Hogan and McMahon, working with Orton and Orndorff, MTV, and of course, Wrestlemania I. What was the story between Roddy and Mr. T? Was it legit heat? We go over their bouts together, and look at the subtle and not so subtle interactions. We talk about Roddy's inevitable face turn, smart fans' and their feelings for him, his intuition about when to go and when to stay, protecting the business, and so much more. We only get to about 1987, and there is tons more to come, but there is a great little story from Bill about his personal interactions with Roddy that is sure to put a smile on the listeners' faces. Also, there is a very special intro from legendary manager and personality Joel Gertner! Joel will be making his return to The Monster Factory in Paulsboro, NJ, this Saturday at 11 AM for an "Everything But The Wrestling" seminar. I went last year, and I will be going again. I can't vouch enough for it. Either way, keep your eyes and ears open for multiple episodes of Creative Control this week, and check out MonsterFactory.org for info on the seminar and upcoming events.
Monster Factory Owner & Head Coach Danny Cage returns to Creative Control, and is outspoken as usual. We discuss Monster Factory TV, the new Monster Factory Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion Clutch Adams, the ladies training at the Monster Factory, trainer and ROH talent QT Marshall, the Bill Demott situation at NXT, Wrestlemania and Roman Reigns, Paid In Full, Shooterz Inc. and so much more!
It's an honor this episode, to spend an hour speaking with former top guy in WWF/WWE creative and former VP of talent and programming in TNA, Bruce "Brother Love" Prichard. Coming up on January 25th at 1 PM at Dave & Buster's in Philadelphia, Mr. Prichard will come face to face with former WCW President, Eric Bischoff, for a Monday Night Wars debate, in a room full of fans, moderated by none other than Chris Jericho! On tonight's episode, we focus on the Monday Night Wars, in the spirit of the upcoming debate. We discuss the night Nitro debuted and Lex Luger's jump to WCW, the early days of the NWO and the impact of Hulk Hogan's heel turn, and the Pillman-Austin gun angle (including a story Prichard has never told before!) From there we move on to the entry of Vince Russo into McMahon's inner circle, whether or not Prichard feels the criticism Russo feels is fair, and of course we talk about the Montreal Screwjob. Does Bruce think Vince was justified? We move onto some of the bigger moments of 1998, including Goldberg's WCW World Championship win over Hulk Hogan, and WCW's big signing of The Ultimate Warrior. Did either event worry the WWF? We wrap up with some discussion as to whether or not the jump of Russo & Ferrara concerned the WWF braintrust, how the closure of WCW and the subsequent purchase by the WWF has affected the business to this day, and whether or not Paul Heyman's claims of ECW's influence on WWF Attitude are true or exaggerated...all this and more! Please visit RFVideo.com for more information on the Bischoff-Prichard Monday Night Wars debate, moderated by Chris Jericho! Tickets for the debate, and meet and greets with all the participants are available!
Episode 23 starts out with a bang, with indy wrestling veteran and star CJ O'Doyle. CJ will be one of the stars on the forthcoming season of Stone Cold Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge, beginning this Sunday night January 4th at 8 PM! We discuss how he wound up with that opportunity, as well as his difficulties in PWU and CZW after the closure of his home promotion, 3PW. We also cover his time up to the present day on the Florida indies, his experiences working for WWC in Puerto Rico, being revealed as the first member of Aces & Eights in TNA, live on Impact, working with Sting and Kurt Angle at that time, appearing live on Raw during a heated segment between Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella, and so much more! Will the "Irish Lionheart" triumph on Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge? How does he feel about the expanding pro wrestling landscape in 2015? And where would he ultimately like to wind up? We cover all this and more!
Our guest on this episode is my friend, mentor, and one of the most memorable wrestling personalities of all time, "The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner! Referee Mike Kehner has been living his dream since the mid 90s. He's worked everywhere, NWA, WWE, TNA, ROH, CZW, PWU, XPW, 3PW, and most notoriously of course, ECW! We touch on as much of his career as we can in just one episode, including working the ECW reunion shows for both WWE and TNA, refereeing in China, his friendship with Steve Corino, going from referee to wrestler to trainer and back again, the turmoil in the Philly indies after the demise of ECW, and what he is up to currently.
