*) Anti-France rallies continue as Macron backlash widens
Demonstrators gathered in several Muslim countries against French President Emmanuel Macron's stance on caricatures denigrating Prophet Muhammad.
The anti-France protests were held in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Mali and the occupied West Bank.
Meanwhile, leaders of Turkey and Pakistan called on other countries to take a stance against recently increasing anti-Islam attacks.
*) Deadly Armenian missile strike hits Azerbaijan's Barda
Azerbaijan said an Armenian missile strike on its Barda district near the Nagorno-Karabakh frontline killed 21 civilians and wounded 70 others.
Yerevan has denied carrying out an attack, which is the deadliest reported assault on civilians since new fighting broke out a month ago.
A ceasefire announced by the US earlier this week has failed to take hold as both sides accuse each other of violations.
*) Europe introduces new measures to curb virus, India cases surge
France, Germany, Czech Republic and a number of European countries have imposed drastic measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, India’s number of infections has crossed 8 million and the country is expected to overtake the US to have the most infections in coming weeks.
The pandemic is surging worldwide, with hundreds of thousands of new daily infections, taking the global caseload past 44 million, with nearly 1.2 million deaths.
*) 16 dead, dozens missing in Vietnam landslides after typhoon
At least 16 people have been killed and dozens of others remain missing after landslides triggered by a typhoon hit central Vietnam.
Typhoon Molave knocked down trees, tore roofs off homes and brought heavy rain to an area already badly affected by weeks of flooding.
Around 50 people were reported missing across two villages in Quang Nam province, while a search team is battling to reach the site.

Marcus Rashford is again the star for Manchester United in the Champions League with a hat-trick in a 5-0 thumping of RB Leipzig
On the other hand, Barcelona put their off-field troubles to one side to win 2-0 away to a Juventus side deprived of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Meanwhile, PSG got their campaign up and running by beating Istanbul Basaksehir 2-0 in Turkey, but lost Neymar to an adductor injury in the first half.
