Demi Moore is a Goddess, I could listen to her read the obituaries. This isn't just about sex, I'm starting to feel invested in Diana's life. Demi is an incredible voice actress. You won't be disappointed, give it a listen!
I like this one for a lot of reasons. The core story is fascinating. The production is top-notch. And then... Demi Moore, of course.
Good story, well played by a heap of well-known actors and actresses. However, Diana is a character I can't wrap my head around. The easiest explanation, I guess, is that she's having a rollercoaster ride, due to menopause, that makes her almost impossible to grasp. But I think that it's not what the authors intended. And her curiosity in others sexual fantasies, without the will to live out, or even have, her own. Why? Makes no sense, to me.
Well written and acted and acceptable overall production. It's difficult to empathize with the main character sometimes. Feminist themes work well. Erotic theme no so much (actually not so erotic). I miss a single appearance of the marriage's daughter. Most of characters are maybe too stereotypical. Target audience: women, those who liked sex in the city and 50 shades of grey, middle class. I am not this audience but enjoyed the listen nonetheless.
AMAZING!! I wish it was still on. I discovered it late :(
I'm not entirely convinced I was the target audience but I enjoyed Dirty Diana nonetheless. Demi Moore plays her role well as the wife in a failing marriage and an underappreciated employee, who has a side hustle recording sexual confessions from women for a website. This is really a tale of rediscovery as Diana strives to understand who she is as her world falls apart. The scriptwriting conveys this very well and you can sympathise with her struggles. QCode seems to excel when it knows a series is only to last for a limited run. Dirty Diana works well as a one off mini series.
This show was a novelty. An erotica themed audio drama that's depressing. Because it's really about the death of a marriage. I can't really knock it for trying for something unique but I was amused that it's not until Gwendoline Christie and Rosa Salazar show up that the erotic fantasies aren't tinged with grief. I also don’t get why Diana’s erotic fantasy podcast is treated like its such a novelty in a world where Fifty Shades of Grey is a best selling phenomenon that inspired a million copy cats.
