This is a memoir of Sue Stafford's early career with the RSPCA. It details some of the cruelty cases she dealt with and working as a young, determined female in what was a male-dominated working environment. It tells of Sue's tenacity in investigating offences of animal abuse and how she gained the admiration and respect of her colleagues, becoming only the second female to achieve promotion to Chief Inspector and eventually, the RSPCA's first female Deputy Chief Officer Inspectorate.
