I've been a Dopefiend listener for a few years now and recently got my boyfriend to listen and he thought it was a bit cheesy at first but loved it and started listening too! We loved listening to the Dopefiend on the rare occasions he did the quarantined bit and we always love listening to Pi and his crazy stories and love his music. But unfortunately this has all been ruined because my boyfriend decided to try and join in on the fun on Discord but from the very start a long term dopetriber started being rude, racist, sexist and homophobic and it all got out of hand. My boyfriend was really upset because a member of his family came out gay a few years ago and got ostracized by his own family! I understand that free speech is important and gagging peoples free speech is something we are both really against. But there's a line and that line got crossed today! Basically this nasty little right wing troll posted a picture about stoning gay people to death during pride month! My boyfriend was so upset he lost his temper and has now left the Discord group. There is simply no excuse for that! So wrong! My boyfriend was told that they were sorry but this was a free speech zone. Free speech does not give people the right to be racist or homophobic, no matter who you are! We're in 2 minds weather to listen again as this episode kind of ruined it for both of us.Shame. 😥
