So I'm not the biggest true crime fan, but I know a quality true crime podcast when I see one. The main quality isn't just in the host's presentation style but in the fact that she handles the story so respectfully. This isn't sensationalized or scandalized. However, because the parameters that make a 'Dr. Death' possible are so relevant to us, it was important to get the word out. That doesn't change that there are real victims and suffering involved.
Season 1 is completely deserving of 5 stars. Maybe it is the lack of novelty, but the second season doesn't hit quite as hard. But that first season...I suggest it to people that I know have never even listened to a podcast because this story and the storytelling is so perfect. Easily one of the best podcasts I've ever heard.
Hello! My name is Ken. As a fellow podcaster, I know how important reviews can be to creators like us. That’s why, in the spirit of the season, I’ve decided to give your podcast 5 stars. If you’re also feeling in a giving mood, feel free to review mine as well! It’s called PRRP, which stands for Podcast Reviews Reviews Podcast. (It’s a podcast that reviews the reviews of its podcast.) Happy holidays!
One of my favorite podcasts. I binged both seasons in a single day. Keep them coming.
this podcast was well-done. a testament to that is how painful it was to listen to - all those stories and all those people intertwined with one crazy guy, though calling him crazy takes away the severity of his actions.
Quality produced podcast, freaks me out thinking about having someone like Dr Death anywhere near my healthcare. The Medical system is so broken in the US.
What a show! Only 2 episodes in and I'm hooked. Great narration, insight and presence.
Thoroughly enjoyed this podcast- another great one by Wondery. I find Wondery's best podcasts are like great books that you can't put down.
A truly horrific story, but an amazing listen!
Very well structured and narrated.
This is the show that showed me podcasts could be more than talk shows and DND live plays. Don't get me wrong, I also love those, but this is defenetly something else entirely, it's the renaissance of radialized drama in the making.
Gave it 5 stars because I was enjoying it and wish I could have finished, but I'm squeamish about surgical stuff and the descriptions in the podcast literally made me ill and very close to passing out. ? Would recommend to anyone who likes any of the Wondery produced podcasts. They are all terrific.
Wondery is a likeable producer of good shows. This one was no different. Pretty general format and storytelling but I loved it nonetheless. Certainly recommend for road trips.
I really enjoyed this podcast. In-depth, well researched, wonderfully edited - really enjoyed it!
Super interesting story about how the medical system let one doctor get away with murder. Extra episodes at the end superfluous.
This podcast fills in a lot of details that the news reporting missed. The subject was fascinating. I could have used a stronger structure, but it was a good podcast. Laura Bell is an excellent host.
Intriguing and heartbreaking at the same time
Good information to know but a little long winded
Gripping story - media exposure of the US healthcare system needs to keep happening - would like less advertisements
Engrossing, informative, and entertaining. I definitely recommend this podcast to anyone that enjoys true crime\documentary style podcasts.
