Great listen. I listen to a LOT of podcasts and I only review the best ones so, well done, you made the list 😃👊
A truly unique show that surprised me in a "wow, that gave me goosebumps" kind of way from the first episode. The characters are really well developed, and the playful yet supportive banter between the main characters specifically makes the friendship feel that much more real. The story itself is excellently written and each episode builds cohesively on the last, with both the world's history and each characters' backstory. Incredible sound design and a beautiful, mysterious, and haunting soundtrack -- which makes it perfect for the show.Just all around very well done. I can't recommend it enough!
This was such a fun show. Gemma and Thomas really feel like old friends, like they were real people. Their interactions are believable, and doesn't feel scripted at all the way these kinds of podcasts can. Almost wish Dr. Thorne had made more sounds so they could have continued longer. I usually don't like it when they bring in audience members, but they do it so good and it really works for the format. I've already unlocked some old memories, can't wait to listen to the last few episodes too.
Echoes (in)Between is such a unique premise that is executed so well! This is such a high quality production that I regularly forget it doesn’t have a huge studio budget behind it. The story itself is brilliantly intriguing but when you combine it with the phenomenal sound design it becomes genuinely *haunting*. This is the kind of show you’ll want to binge over a rainy evening or two, because at every turn you WILL want to know what’s coming next, and the payoff is worth it. This became an instant favourite, and even though it’s difficult to recommend to its fullest extent without spoiling too much, I can just leave you with this: you will not regret listening, and if you’re not sure where it’s going at first, keep listening, it’ll blow you away.
I cannot believe how good this show is! Just wow!1. The acting is incredible, especially for an indie audio drama. The two leads are charming, likable, and have such amazing chemistry. The supporting cast is also top notch.2. The writing is somehow natural and realistic while still being lyrical and very detailed. I have a feeling I’m going to catch so many things I missed on my first listen through.3. The production is so professional sounding. There’s not a huge amount going on, but there’s lots of small touches that really come through to build the atmosphere.4. The music is incredible! I would listen to a lot of it on its own if I could. It goes from soothing to unnerving in a moment and it’s totally thrilling.5. Best of all, the story is totally compelling and I cannot stop thinking about it! I’m writing this review just before the latest episode goes live, but I already know it won’t disappoint. Well done to everyone involved in this show!
It is one of the first podcasts to truly creep me out in quite a while. The acting and sound design are amazing, but that's not the star of the show. The plot is incredible. The writing leaves me on the edge of my seat throughout every episode. And the mystery is fresh and creative. I wish I could give this show more than 5 stars.
A really gripping start! The production style feels really productive and, for lack of a better word, authentic (the first episode especially feels like it could be a non-fiction podcast about weird memory techniques). The VAs for the two mains are both really good and every conversation they have feels really natural.I'm also GRIPPED by this plot - the major Plot Twist That I Will Not Spoil For Anyone Reading This Review that happens a few episodes in had my jaw dropping. Excited to see where it goes!
Absolutely great podcast with gripping storylines and lively characters. You might think you know what's going to happen but you absolutely don't. Despite the twists, the plot still makes complete sense. Everyone should give it a try, it's the best new podcast.
Great production value, cool concept and pretty engaging! I like podcasts and shows that really suck you into their world, it’s a nice touch!
Echoes is truly an interesting take on the audio drama sphere, with a super unique premise, amazing mixing and soundscaping, and extremely natural acting. Can't wait to catch up (and stay caught up)! Keep doing what you're doing!- Twin Strangers Productions Team
Fascinating and unusual premise, and a new and creepy spin on the Podcasters Investigate the Supernatural and it goes Horribly Wrong for Them genre. Asks complex questions about the nature of selfhood. Spooky, well put together and also makes you think.
I listened to the whole first season over a few evenings and thought it was great. As someone for whom the prospect of reliving childhood memories is... not appealing, I was a bit worried this would go into territory I couldn't cope with, but it goes to totally different and unexpected territory instead. It's hard to discuss in detail without spoilers, but just when you think you've got the hang of *that* territory, it goes somewhere else. Then does the same thing again, always in a way that adds to the plot and worldbuilding. There were a couple of moments where I felt the main characters were being uncharacteristically dense in not picking up on things that the audience already knew about, but it's notable that I cared about and respected the characters enough to feel that. It's a story that's uniquely suited to audio, with several episodes dedicated to a podcast-within-a-podcast, and themes of music and listening running throughout. The audio production is also excellent. Highly bingeable.
Echoes became an instant favourite of mine when I started listening! The premise of a podcast within a podcast was executed so well and I was on tenterhooks every episode as the mystery deepened. The show’s main revelation causes an abrupt but really fun genre shift and, my god, Jess knows how to use a cliffhanger to its fullest potential! It's hard to believe that the show is an indie production because it's so immaculately produced and it has - hands down - the best outro in existence.
