RATING
This show is pretty good for what it is. It’s clearly an allegory for the gay rights movement and the AIDS epidemic. The android sci fi bits are pretty much an afterthought, down to the android sniper who has to take a deep breath before trying to shoot a target. Why do androids breathe in this world like humans? Shrug. It’s like if you took the musical Rent, went into the script with a word processor and changed every instance of the term “gay” to “android”, and then changed nothing else about the setting. I'd personally wish for better world building but on the whole, the show keeps its own internal consistency. The closest they come to a spark (ha, see what I did there?) of interesting world building is that androids can perform a full skin tease. Chloe Bailey and Kesha are quite good.
A star-crossed lovers story between a robot and a human. Took two episodes before I got into the show. The upside is that every episode gets better and better.Loved the music and inclusion of some recognisable tunes.Hate the narration style, the short slam poetry like lines.
Fabulous Cyberpunk. Really well produced and acted. Music is cool too. The story is not very original, quite cliché actually, but it still is very entertaining, and the characters are well created and lovable. The narration is original, I'll give them that. Totally recommended for cyberpunk and sci-fi fans.
Beautiful in every way! One of QCODE's best. It ends pretty neatly, and for something just one season long, it does a fantastic job of worldbuilding and character backgrounds. Despite being a typical cyberpunk setting, some concepts are pretty unique so it was still fresh. The sound is the cherry on top, with stellar and catchy music in some of the episodes.
QCode podcasts have a near 50/50 success rate for me but Electric Easy is one of my favoured ones. Using a future in which human-like robots have become part of society as an analogy for homophobia and AIDS fear mongering, the show highlights the dangers of intolerance. The sound design is sensational, crisp and deep. It drags you into the world and you rrally feel as if you are moving through the streets and corridors. It is undoubtedly the true strength of the series, though in truth it excels in many other areas too. Electric Easy is apolished output from QCode, showing the best that the company offers to audio drama.
I have listened to a couple of Cyberpunk podcast, and they board me. Not this one. The sound, voice acting, direction are just amazing. The music is fantastic. Can't get enough.
What an amazing podcast, the soundscape is awesome! One of my favourite podcasts.
