"When you're able to become more confident about your story and you become more heartfelt, and more real about what you want to share, and it really comes from the heart, not just what you think other people might want you to share, when it when we really get to that place, that deep place within you, that's where the confidence can arise."

We all have our stories that come from our experience of life, they are shaped through our unique lens.  Everyone's context is slightly different and this is why everyone has a book inside them.  In this episode, I sat down with Book Coach, Danielle Perlin-Good to chat about why your story matters.

Growing up Jewish, Danielle was always extremely interested in familial history, ancestry, and her roots. She loves helping others share their family’s history and showcasing it to the world.  She firmly believes in telling stories of the past so future generations can learn from trials and tribulations.  She worked at a children’s publishing company as the social media coordinator for over three years, several Chicago-area newspaper companies, and has helped numerous small businesses with their digital marketing efforts. She has more than 12 years of writing experience and has a BS in News-Editorial Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, practising yoga, being outside, and spending time with her husband and their son.

In this episode, we discussed:

  • Why being a Mama was one of the catalyst's for Danielle to start a business
  • How the pandemic has affected our lives
  • The Writing Mindset and how everyone has a book in them
  • The importance of taking responsibility for your writing
  • Why everybody has a book inside them
  • The book writing process
  • Your target audience and goals for your book
  • Traditional publishing vs self-publishing
