Usually very informative, and in a very short time span9...around 20 minutes or so per episode, with rare exceptions (like the terrific episode on Ovid, of course not en emperor but one of antiquity' greatest poets, who was exiled by an emperor, Augustus). Sometimes an episode is a bit spare, generally a speeding through of a well-known emperor-monster like Caligula or Nero, both of whom get multiple episodes, with the presenters reciting too unquestioningly from the always questionable (and biased) sources. I've gone through 30 episodes, and Matt and Rhiannon are a thoroughly knowledgeable, agreeable host/authority team. I'm enjoying the series in the morning, with my first cuppa Joe, and the brevity of the episodes don't detain me from getting my day underway. Recommended for SPQR fans.
