Creating a positive, meaningful and impactful Employee Experience starts with an outside-in perspective, i.e. focusing on how employee perceive their own experience rather than how the organization perceives the experience of their employees.

Adopting an employee-centric approach is easier for companies that already have a customer-centric mindset. These companies understand that continuous testing, iteration, obsession for customer/employee feedback is the foundation for developing a winning EX.

According the Kincentric’s recent report, “with a ‘never done,’ agile approach, companies can ensure successful delivery of the employee experience that unlocks the power of people and teams to accelerate organizational success.”

“High-performing cultures come from highly engaged employees gaining meaningful experiences throughout the employee lifecycle – all the moments of inspiration, leadership, recognition, development and transition”, according to the report. Identifying moments that matter for your employees, designing an EX strategy to address these moments that matter will elevate your Employee Experience.

Ken Oehler is a Senior Partner, Global Culture & Engagement Practice Leader at Kincentric, and co-author of Kincentric’s report “Create an eXtraordinary Employee eXperience – Global Employee eXperience Report 2019”.
