Loving what you already have can make you the richest person you know. It's all part of being appreciative, thankful, and mindful of everything you already have. Too often we set our minds to unrealistic goals that only leave us feeling unsatisfied when the wealthiest people that I know are the ones who understand the wealth behind what they already possess.
In these times of self-importance and pretentiousness, I figured I'd unleash a few of the dumbest things I've ever done, just because I enjoy bucking the system and doing my own thing. I've made mistakes in life, big ones, we all do, and I still do, so in this episode I'll talk about a few bad decisions that I've lived to regret, laugh about, and tell without regard, because like I've said so many times, nobody is perfect, not even close.
I was thinking about the stupid things I have done in my life at a time in the world when everyone is boasting about their achievements. It seemed the proper response to that. Enjoy! PS: I do not endorse underage drinking as it is dangerous and against the law.
Who are you? Are you comfortable in your own skin? Is there anything about you that you are afraid to tell others?Know this first...You are unique. You are special. There isn't anyone on this earth exactly like you, which means the word, 'normal', is completely subjective.  We are born into this earth and develop in different ways, we encounter a wide assortment of varied problems in our lives but through all of that, as dislike as we all may be, we are all indeed human beings capable of kindness and empathy towards each other, and in that way, we can help each other through the tough times life often throws our way. We all encounter different problems that can still be very similar, and simultaneously our own, and in that way we can find empathy, understanding, and respect for each other as well.
The death of Eddie Van Halen really made me contemplate life and the gifts we are given. One of the most talented and prolific musicians of all time, Van Halen displayed his passion for music every single time he performed, which motivated me today to talk about our passions in life, and how not to take each day we are blessed with, for granted. Embrace your passion!
On today's episode we talk about putting your heart behind whatever you do, because you deserve to be your best. A quick thirty minutes that might motivate your life. Get it done!
Checking in with you, with me, eighty episodes in, looking back to the past and towards the future, a quick thirty minutes together.
It's impossible to please everyone in life. When it comes down to it, you have to be yourself and tell it like it is, politely, and in that way, you will escape the funk that comes along with trying to please everyone all of the time and brings you down.
I get a colonoscopy and talk about the importance of getting yourself checked and how for me, it helped prevent some serious problems. Of course I cannot be totally serious about this topic, because life is way too serious to be serious.
I talk humorously about my colonoscopy, the angry young polyp that keeps trespassing, how preventive medicine could save your life, finding humor during dark times and remaining positive all the while. You might want to share this episode. It could save the life of someone you care about. Thank you in advance for the time you spend listening. It's much appreciated. Tony!
It's time for me to get serious about weight loss. Warning number two from my cardiologist has me contemplating some big changes necessary to be more healthier not only for myself but for my loved ones as well. For this journey I will try the free version of NOOM.
'Peace, Love, and Understanding For All...' is the underlying message to the world from this podcast.  Yes, many of the subjects I touch upon are much deeper than my thirty minute episodes, so I often get right to the point of the empathy for all and finding peaceful solutions within ourselves in the hope it will become contagious.   This episode is no exception...a visit to Black Lives Matter and Back the Blue rallies...and my message stays the same...Peace, Love and Understanding for starts with us...
I attended two support rally's this past weekend: Black Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter. Instead of recording and photographing the negative...I focused all of my attention of the individual islands of promising dialogue erupting in select pockets of people...
We continue our conversation with Scott and talk about free will, love, evil, and our perspectives on what is and how we understand God.
We talked last episode about the question 'Is God Real?'. In this episode I talk to a friend of mine, Scott, to help me get a grip on this question and the follow up question, 'How IS God Real?' We float a lot of ideas around and the more we talk about it, the more I listen, the deeper my understanding of my faith becomes.
I have a friend going through some health problems. He asked me if God is real, and if so, could I explain God to him. What you hear on this episode is my struggle to explain my concept of the answer to his question...
Ever have something embarrassing happen to you and it stuck with you your entire life? Me too. I talk about how I defeated that negative thought in todays episode.
In this episode I talk about making memories but also remembering where we come from and simultaneously, considering where the person you are dealing with has come from as well.
Sometimes it's not easy to engage in conversation with a total stranger. But the other day as I wandered Independence Mall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, I couldn't help but notice a black man wearing a patriotic ball cap and an interesting shirt with what appeared to be whip slash marks on the back of it. To me he was a walking narrative, witholding a story to be told, and I felt compelled to talk to him and hear it...if only he'd tell me... And that is where we pick up the story
I interview my great nephews Luc, and Sean, and ask them about current events, growing up during these times, dealing with Covid-19, Protests, Riots, and their opinions on all of these things. It was very nice to hear what they think.
Contraband Slim has dedicated his life to spreading positivity and love towards anyone he meets. His sincerity and determination to spread love towards others has motivated me to share this message of positivity with you, and hopefully in return, you will share it as well.
A continuation of the road trip I took to Philly as I shared my thoughts that day of family who are gone, memories that still live, and how it's ok to be in the funk sometimes, but you should know it will get better!
Taking a ride to keep sane during the quarantine, I head to Philly to reminisce about days gone by.
Mindfulness Meditation is the act of bringing your thoughts into the present moment, being in the 'now' and quieting those racing thoughts we all have running through our minds. I do my own type of Mindfulness Meditation by going out with my camera and focus on searching for then finding subjects to occupy my mind at that moment, on that specific subject. Join me as I take you on a walk where I relax my mind and focus on the now.
I'd like to lose some weight. I need to lose some weight. But I know it's going to take self-discipline and determination to make it happen. Let's set some reachable goals together, they can be weight loss, eating healthier, exercising, meditating, practicing mindfulness, whatever healthy goal you would like to achieve. Are you in?
