Episode 14. Dawn in Alabama

In this episode I'm joined by Dawn from Alabama. Dawn is a family nurse practitioner at an urgent care in a town outside of Birmingham, Alabama and she lost her father to COVID in January 2021. After her dad passed away, Dawn wrote out his story and all the memories she had of him growing up. Dawn's dad operated coin laundries in Alabama and he used to find flattened, almost melted change in the washing machines and dryers. She fondly remembers him bringing that change home to share with her. So she started Pennies for Pop and encouraged others to share their stories of losing a loved one. And now her Pennies for Pop has grown into LiveLikePop.org.

You can find Pennies for Pop at https://livelikepop.org/

WhoWeLost.org can be found here: https://whowelost.org/

And the COVID-19 Memorial Rami's Heart can be found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Covid19MemorialRamisheart/

For context on this interview and the ever-changing pandemic, we recorded this episode on November 30, 2021.
