RATING
If you’d said one of my favorite fiction podcasts would be about a Priest & confession, this Catholic-household-kid would’ve been skeptical… but it’s an absolute revelation !!! (See what I did there ??) Forgive Me is superbly crafted in every way, but it’s the shows ability to make you feel GOOD about humanity & life that’ll keep you coming back every new episode… subscribe today !!!
In a time where the news can be a hard watch, Forgive Me! is an absolute beacon. That's not to say it shies away from dealing with difficult topics - it most certainly does not - but it deals with them with such warmth and humanity that you can't help finishing each episode feeling better about the world than when you started. It has a great cast of VAs who pop up regularly throughout the first two series as we get a glimpse into the lives of the parishioners of St Patrick's. An absolute gem.
I have enjoyed almost every minute of the first season - such a fantastic mix of drama and comedy, heartfelt sincerity and dry irony, self-contained stories and ongoing plot narratives. Superb acting by Casey Callaghan; solid writing; thoughtful and nuanced sound production and editing. The season 1 finale was heartbreaking.
Slice of life comedy. Each episode gives a fun and sometimes heartwarming glimpse into the members of the church as they interact with the main character and he becomes more familiar with the community. The story explores a bit of the positives and negatives of the Catholic experience and working towards self-improvement. I especially enjoyed the third episode, which is one of the more emotional ones. My one criticism is that the ad placement in the middle of each episode interrupts the flow, since it occurs right in the middle of a conversation without a transition.
It's rare that I am so charmed and excited about a show right away. Forgive Me! only has one episode so far, but it has a fantastic, unique concept that is held up by loveable characters. I also ADORE the music!! Such a lovely show, I can't wait to hear more.
good fun, excellent voice acting
I was immediately invested in the characters' and felt like I knew so much about them in such a short time, which I can attribute to thoughtful writing. The voice actors have great chemistry. The musical score really sets the tone of the stories being told and makes you feel like you're in the room. Heavily recommended!!
epic! Super fun with strong characters. The writing is light and well-paced and I love the sound design in the latest episode. Excited for more!
This is a wonderful audio fiction podcast that comforts and challenges you to be better in small ways. (After all, don't we all need forgiveness?). It's a joy to listen to. What with its great performances, writing, and sound mixing. Also the characters have so much depth to them that you feel pretty quickly once you start listening.
Warm and funny. I'm reminded of the BBC show Ballykissangel.
This is wholesome, charming, funny, heartwarming, thought provoking and at times sad. So glad I'm listening. I wish I could give this 10 stars.
What a delight! Overflowing with humor and warmth, yet still earnestly exploring questions of what it means to be a good person, what it means to balance faith with personal convictions, and how all of it fits differently into each individual life. For all that, the wildly absurd confessions from the locals are constantly hilarious and surprising!
Forgive Me! is centered around a simple premise, but within a few episodes it becomes clear that this show is absolutely unpredictable and can easily jump from humorous to heartbreaking and back again without missing a beat. Despite its setting, “Forgive Me!” explores some unexpected yet hilarious situations and themes. I was completely unprepared for some of these twists and punchlines… For comedy, Episode Four, “Youth Participation” and the story of the Christmas Mass incident was my favorite. I hope we hear more from Clara in the future. For the feels, listen to Episode Three, “About Tomorrow.” I can’t say much without doing the episode a disservice, but what I will say is that while I was listening to it I stopped everything else I was doing… and sat down… and just listened… It may not absolve me of my sins, but listening to this show makes me happy and brightens my day every time I let it. I adore the absurd world of Saint Patricks and I hope you will too.
Truly enjoyed this podcast. Funny, heartfelt, unexpected. I am looking forward to the next season.
I am so completely charmed by every aspect of this show. Beginning to end, it is a masterclass on simple, elegant, funny, warm, empathetic storytelling, and a perfect show to just sit, drink some tea, and spend some time with. It's silly and odd at times, but also uses that humor to navigate discussions about conflict resolution and self-introspection in a heartfelt, extremely palatable way. Characters are vivid and fully realized and have lovely chemistry together. And that theme music is an absolute delight!
Episode 1 is a hoot ! I look forward to more quirky characters in the confessional👍😆
This podcast puts me in such a good mood😄Because of it's humanity and great sence of humour !
This is one of my favorite shows!! It's endearing and so funny.
