Certainly one of the best actual plays out there. The group dynamic, the world-building, the editing, everything is stellar every time. Also so many episode that you'll always have an episode to listen to!
My goodness, the storytelling of this group is absolutely top notch. I love the levels of realism combined with the levity of the players. Austin Walker does an amazing job at GM'ing. Love this show.
I don’t care much for the fantasy seasons but the sci-fi/mecha seasons are some of the best actual play work I have ever listened to.
Intellectually ambitious RPG podcast that lives up to those ambitions. It's heavy on world-building (they have entire multi-hour episodes devoted entirely to world-building) and the music is amazing (one of the players is a composer). The style is quite different from many other Actual Play podcasts - slower moving, with more of a collaborative story-telling feel between GM and players. The audio quality in the first season is atrocious. I'd recommend starting with one of the later seasons, e.g. Marielda, which is a stand-alone story. The creators have a 'where to start listening' guide on the show's website.
Always quality. Good story telling. Usually some action. Seem like good people
This is truly one of my favorite podcasts. They focus on telling interesting stories in fun and considerate ways and it is just so magical. There's custom music by of one the players, Jack de Quidt, which is truly stunning.
Incredibly rich worldbuilding, wonderful characters, and brilliant stories. I adore this podcast. And they've got so much you can listen to, too!
A lot of people whose games and stories I love recommended this, and it took me a long time to get into it - it's a daunting prospect, for sure! - but wow, past those first few eps...... This VERY quickly became my favourite story. There's a mix of emotional character work and cool thoughtful worldbuilding and lightheartedness that really works for me. I wish I'd started listening earlier.
