RATING
Yes, the subjects this podcast covers are kind of interesting, sometimes even important. But, no, the fake cheerfulness of the hosts doesn't do it for me. I actually find it terribly off-putting. I would suggest the hosts to either take up comedy, or get down to business and treat a serious subject seriously. The combination doesn't work for me.For those interested in good food related podcasts, I'd suggest trying Bite (from Mother Jones), or the BBC shows The Food Chain and The Food Programme.
Food for your brain on food. Does that make sense? Some people might think it's slow or cheesy, but the real conversations and intriguing stories thrill if you're interested at all in the the food that goes in your body. It's well produced, with quality recordings. Ads drag on sometimes.
Very fun and interesting! If you like food, history, and science, wow is this podcast for you. Very well researched and produced, different episodes will approach some kind of food or food-topic. Episodes are fun and have some humor sprinkled in, along with interviews with people who really know their science, history, and food!
While not on heavy rotation in my podcatcher, GastroPod is probably the best executed of the podcasts that follow in the footsteps of StuffYouShouldKnow.Hosts Graber and Twilley have a nice chemistry and dig up fun facts about everyone's favorite topic, food. Some episodes tend to feel more like a set of facts than a story about the subject which can get a bit boring (like a dull science lecture instead of a fun experiment. When everything is going right (see the recent "Pizza Pizza!) this is a fabulous entree into the weird world of food and the people who make their living in it.
Horribly bigoted and polluted with hate speech that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the subject.
Very informative.
