As people enjoyed her family video more than 1 million times, Dena quickly recognized her family’s experience had deep roots in the American consciousness. Since then, Dena committed herself to creating a world of mental health fluency, compassion, and empowerment for those who are overcoming the challenges associated with traumatic stress. She’s in the process of writing a children’s book and regularly raises awareness about the importance of mental health through the powerful, ineffable core connections that exist between animals and people. These are the type of potent, core connections that can help bring men and women great comfort during their process of transitioning from Post-Traumatic Stress to Post-Traumatic Growth.
