I remember a conversation I had with someone I just met recently, and I asked this person what they do. As we got to know each other, it became clear that there wasn’t just “one” thing my friend did. In fact, they were involved in all facets of life, from family and church to politics and business.

As leaders in marketplace ministry, it’s important that we put some thought into what we say when people ask, “What do you do?”

It’s tempting to put ourselves in a box, and it’s usually the job we spend the most time on. But what if that question is really a springboard, and opportunity to take the conversation to another level?
