This was a conversation about the removal of Stephen Towns’ paintings inspired by Nat Turner's insurrection from Rosenberg Gallery. With moderation by Rob Ferrell, the panel and Goucher community collectively discussed the boundaries of freedom of expression, the role of art on Goucher's campus, and the role of the institution in facilitating discourse about enslavement and racism, in the past and present. Goucher's relationship to the Black body was examined through Stephen's artwork.
