This very much has that "radio" sound to it, which gives it a different feel from a lot of its contemporaries in the podcast space. I can't quite put my finger on it, if it's more a manufactured energy or simply a distinctive style of delivery, but it sounds like if I listened long enough they'd be giving away tickets to some band even THEY don't care about anymore. And I know, the guys met working at a radio station. That doesn't mean they need to sound like lukewarm shock jocks.
And for a show that allegedly has its roots stretching back over 11 years, what is up with the audio quality? Maybe it was just the handful of recent episodes I sampled, and not a constant, but Mike's audio was muffled and muddy. Shouldn't radio guys care about that more? If this is how it sounds now, what was it like in 2009? I could probably go back and listen, but... nah. I won't.
