Too often, when a show tries to be a horror/comedy, it ends up either a horror story with a joke or two, or a comedy with some trappings of horror, but not a consistent mix of the two.HHF begins as a comedy, with a touch of mystery, as Tom and Janet inherit a huge old house and go to look it over with an eye to flipping it. A neighbor/old friend of the family, Lee is on hand to help with the necessary renovations (several rooms and part of the roof being damaged).Tom is particularly excited, since he is an aspiring internet ghosthunter, and as eager (and sometimes as annoying) as Scrappy-Doo. Janet must love him a lot - as she often comments.... (and yet it's believable, unlike most TV pairings...)As they go through the house, they find some anomalies - such as a subfloor in the parlor with odd symbols mosaiced into it. And it begins to get spooky. The humor never flags, and the banter between Tom and Janet (and Lee, though the interactions are very different) is constantly making me break out laughing, and yet the creepiness that's sneaking in is both ominous and intriguing.I eagerly anticipate each new episode.
