RATING
My number 1 podcast I love it. I was absolutely hooked the first season. Then to find out who killed Nancy allegedly after the suspect came out of no where and confessed to police but recanted was the best part. Season 2 has not long started and us already shaping up to be really good also. Plus the host has access to Logan's case file from police. The episode's aren't to short either so your getting more from each show each week and there are plenty of episode per season. Highly recommended đź’Ż
Amazing watching the transformation of James as an investigative Podcaster. S1 and S2 were done very well, but results are exactly like 99% of other podcasts. I have absolutely no idea what the bizarre, personal, emotional grudges these low rating reviews originate from, but it is absolute nonsense. Sara Jo has brought a significant amount of knowledge and has been a perfect addition to the podcast. I have no clue what bullying anyone is talking about. In S3, James really shows his dedication to solving. James is an incredibly intelligent individual who adapts his approach based on those he's dealing with. I've never seen a Podcaster chase the truth and persevere through the lies and human obstacles like this. If you actually want to listen to something real, not just a recap of the police case files (95% of true crime pc), Hide and Seek continues to bring NEW, actual evidence to the case. Start S1 and enjoy this rarity.
It started off okay because James has a decent delivery. The hide and seek podcast group on Facebook is awful. He has some woman named Sara jo as admin and honestly I think she knows more about donuts than true crime. She spews her wrong information out and if someone sees that she's wrong then she kicks them from the group. If there's one thing I've learned from James and Sara jo... They don't want to solve any case's. They just want clicks. Do everybody a favor and delete Sara's annoying voice off of the episodes.Everyone just skips that part anyway because of her cringe voice.
35 episodes in and they have not uncovered a single thing that wasn’t handed to them at the very beginning. This is also the very first true crime podcast that didn’t issue a single “innocent until proven guilty” disclaimer yet slung the most accusations. The hosts are fame hungry and have very little integrity. This podcast epitomizes everything that is wrong with the true crime genre.
They encourage bullying to those that are in the podcast and to fellow listeners. Exploitive. It's been turned into a spectacle, and IMO, a total disservice to this missing girl. As a long time listener I believe the addition of Sara Jo has really turned this podcast into something horrible.
I hate to leave this review because I love season 1 and 2. Season 3 has been going on for about 7 months now with no real info whatsoever other than drama and gossip. The more recent episodes are filler with the host describing his feelings or mundane things that don't really matter (the smell of bacon burning, etc). The Hide & Seek Discussion Group on Facebook is just as messy. People are allowed to speak badly of those involved in the podcast and the comments have become catty and mean, which was never the case before. Everything about the podcast and Facebook group is almost disgusting. It's really a shame the direction this podcast has gone. I hope Brittany's disappearance gets solved (with our without podcast) so that people can find some peace in that town.
