Jason Joel Desrouleaux is an American singer, songwriter, and dancer. Born in Miramar, Florida, Derulo began singing at a young age. He was very engrained in the arts– he attended performing arts school throughout Florida and began writing music when he was eight. As a teen, his writing skills began gaining attention: he would then go on to produce and write records for several artists on Cash Money Records, before singing to minor label Beluga Heights. While his music is generally pop, he incorporates R&B and hip-hop influences. Derulo has sold over 30 million singles since the beginning of his solo career in 2009. Jason’s debut single “Whatcha Say” sold over five million digital downloads, went triple Platinum, and went number one in multiple countries. Derulo’s latest EP, Side 1 was released November 8, 2019, which is the first half of the upcoming 2Sides project, set to release January 2020.Learn more about your ad choices.
