The Abundant Blessing Awaiting Us
Episode 52
Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
In the 14th chapter of John Jesus reminds us that He is preparing for that day when we will be in heaven.
John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God ; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Is it not true that when you are strongly conscious of the nearness of God, whether it be in your private devotions or in the corporate worship setting, that experience inspires your soul and enables you to keep on keeping on.
The 23rd Psalm reveals to us that God is our awesome God and He is our shepherd. And as our shepherd he wants to give us rest and restoration. He wants to guide us along the pathway of life. And if the walk gets difficult He will be there with us every step of the way. And one of these days we will gather together and feast at God’s table.
In the meanwhile it is a day by day dependence upon God. We are His sheep and He is our shepherd.
