Ashley Daily, a senior at USC, sits down with us to discuss a new non-profit called Armory of Harmony which takes gun metal and melts it into musical instruments to distribute to high school and middle school music programs in schools in need around the U.S.

Her hometown, Thousand Oaks, faced two major tragedies this past November, which we discuss in the interview. On November 8th, she tragically learned that her friend Noel Sparks was one of the 12 people who died in the mass shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill. The following day, her family was told to evacuate her home due to the Woolsey Fire. To support victims of these tragedies, she began selling bracelets in a fundraiser called 805 Strong.

We discuss how she is doing now, best practices for managing time wisely, her faith in Jesus Christ, and how to persevere when a dream unexpectedly dies. She shares her favorite novels, mentors and role-models, details the accomplishments thus far of Armory of Harmony and a few suggestions for our listeners. Music by Robby Palmer.
