Mark Guiliana is best known for leading his own band, Beat Music. He also plays with Brad Mehldau in the duo project Mehliana, He plays jazz with his soon-to-be wife, Gretchen Parlato, and has played with many other supremely talented musicians including Tim Lefebvre, Avishai Cohen, Meshell Ndegeocello, Dhafer Youssef, Tigran Hamasyan, Matisyahu, and his old band Heernt. Mark talks about working with Mehldau and Parlato, as well as his philosophies on being a leader and a side man, how he chooses what gigs to do, baseball, parallels between sports and music, and a lot more.
