I'll confess that I discovered IWB late enough & have listened to few enough episodes that, for me, it's never been a true crime podcast. What it is, though, is my favorite interview podcast to listen to when I'm either particularly interested in the interviewee or when I simply want to witness Kate turning what could be a very casual conversation with someone into an in-depth exploration of psychology and the human condition as revealed by their personal experience.I love that I can pick just about any episode at random and know that I'm likely to come away from a listen having learned something, and likely having thought more deeply about something.(Plus, Kate is just awesome)

Honestly this is a really neat podcast. It started as a true crime podcast, and it still shows it's roots sometimes, but Kate has totally transformed the show into something much bigger and greater. Each episode is an interview and they're with people from all walks of life. From relatively established podcasters, writers, etc. to fairly unheard of everyday people Kate met. I fully believe that if I somehow could, I would read every memoir of every person in the world, because every person has a story, and it is unique and fascinating in different ways. This show is probably the closest I'm going to get to that.

I don't catch every episode (simply because I don't have time), but when I *do* listen it's worth it. The variety of guests, topics, and subjects means there's always something interesting to be discovered. For those who like to learn new things and be exposed to new perspectives, it's a great choice.

Kate has a distinctive voice and a manner of speaking that feels warm and personal. With her show, you never know what you're going to get- in the best way possible. Interesting guests and a variety of topics always lead to great conversation.

One of my favorite podcasts ever. The host is a story collector and her collection is vast and rewarding. As a listener, there are so many episodes to choose from and you can find one to suit any mood. Most episodes are a conversation with a different person and you just never know what you're going to learn. Kate Wallinga is smart and insightful - plus, it doesn't hurt that she has a relaxing voice.

This Podcast always brings in some fascinating topics. Even if it's a guest I've never heard of, I try to pop in and give a listen.You never know what you're going to hear about next.

Kate Wallinga's calm, soothing presence and knack for drawing information from her guests make her a fantastic interviewer and podcast host. If you have interest in the field of podcasting in general, Ignorance Was Bliss gets huge props and I couldn't recommend it more. There are hundreds of episodes, and each feels fresh and unique. You can learn a lot from her.

We've guested on Kate's show and for good reason. She's intelligent, informed and inspirational, not to mention a hell of a conversationalist. Every single episode is engaging and you can't go wrong by listening.

Do you really wanna know? Kate is brilliant and insightful, hilarious and irreverent, serious and sensitive, and thoroughly her own person. A collector of stories, her guests range far and wide. I wouldn’t have her or her show any other way.
