I'm not really a star trek fan but I've found plenty to admire about its optimism and intentions. There are a few episodes I was made to watch and enjoyed but I don't go out of my way.This is different. This show lives in my heart. I've listened the whole way through twice and I'm certain I'll do another run in a year or two. Wonderfully funny and smart.

A long running comedy podcast. Consistently enjoyable, and though not always superlative there are enough episodes to scratch your itch for a long time. A podcast to keep in mind, both when you need a distraction and as a reference for keeping fresh with and editing improvised content.

The adventures of the USS Sisyphus and its crew is the funniest possible take on Star Trek. It name checks a lot of The Next Generation and The Original Series. The cast are a bunch of friends who know Star Trek inside out and the episodes are based on suggestions from the public. The outtakes and mini-episodes are just as fun as the full episodes because you get the cast corpsing.The production itself is brilliant and the music and sound effects make it feel like Star Trek. If you like Star Trek, and especially Lower Decks, or just fun in general then The Improvised Star Trek is an absolute blast.The only way it could be better is if Terry Matalas or Mike McMahan name dropped the USS Sisyphus and Captain Baxter in one of the new shows to make it canon. The bottom line is it's the best Star Trek podcast around and one of the funniest full stop.

Clever and reverent Star Trek comedy improv. This is one of my favorite podcasts period. Unfortunately they have finished their run, but I wanted to put my love for the show on the record. This is a show made by Trek fans for Trek fans. The players have such a reverence for the source material that even though they are insane characters in ridiculous situations it still feels right. They are all brilliant improve actors. I can confidently say that this is my favorite Star Trek (even though it is unofficial) of the decade. Thank you very much IST for the hours of joy you brought me. Live long and prosper.
