From slip dresses with army boots to colorful tracksuits and minimal pantsuits, Vogue experts highlight the stories in fashion history that reflected this new era of connectivity. For the first time, trends rapidly spread across the globe, subcultures were adopted as mainstream, and mass marketing turned brand visionaries into celebrity designers. Nothing was off-limits, everything blended together, and fashion reflected this new normal.
We dive deep into narratives and context behind the paradoxical trends of grunge fashion, the rise of the supermodel, the renaissance of American lifestyle brands, and the first fashion-forward red carpets.
Find out why, even 30 years later, we just can’t let go of the 90’s. Presented by Anna Wintour and hosted by Hamish Bowles, this fashion podcast examines how the 90s sparked a cultural fusion that continues to shape our world today — and why no one is exempt from fashion.

In Vogue 1990s: This podcast just debuted mid-September and covers everything 1990s fashion including culture, beauty and so so much more. Hosted by Hamish Bowles (my favorite and the brand’s editor of Europe), the pod features intimate stories from stylists, models, designers, and everyone who's anyone that was involved in the brilliant era. Itunes has an average of four stars and 299 written reviews. New episodes come out weekly on Friday and the average length is about 23 minutes. There are 6 episodes already out and the show couples well with Vogue’s youtube channel (which is another wealth of knowledge). Owltail has the top episodes as Episode 6: Tom Ford's Gucci and Episode 5: Prada: A Revolution From Within. I have to agree on Episode 6 as it’s probably my favorite because who knew! Episode 4: Karl Lagerfeld and The Role of Creative Director is also a very close runner up. The quality of the audio could be a tad better but I don’t find it anything more bothersome than noticeable. The music is light behind Bowles’ voice mostly and honestly almost non-existent. Decently scripted but I LOVED the style. No trigger warnings of course but I wouldn’t play it around children. It WILL have you (if you’re a 90s babe like me) dancing around in your combat boots to sublime and no doubt wishing you could go back just for a day to grab the latest Lisa Frank notebook. The series is so interesting and I hope Vogue continues this for years to come.
