On this episode I speak with sex researcher Chantelle Ivanski, author of the article Exploring definitions of sex positivity through thematic analysis. Her research aims to define and understand sex positivity.

Have you actually thought at length about what sex positivity means? How do you define it? Chantelle has been researching sex positivity in order to get a working definition for psychological studies on the topic. Her aim is to create a sex positivity scale for research. One particular area of interest is whether people can become more sex positive through education on the subject, and this scale would help measure those results. Chantelle and I talk at length about definitions of sex positivity and sex negativity. Where these concepts came from. How they operate historically and now. We discuss her paper, the survey she employed to her participants, and the results. I also took the survey and we discuss my answers compared to her sample from the study.
